9.0.2.1 Orange and Papaya Punch (sounds like a tasty cocktail !)

Hey ladies,

Sorry about the lack of posts lately, I've been quite busy.

See, I planned my vacation in the USA (in Miami and NYC) as you may know...but I've changed my mind and decided to stay in the USA until mid-december to take some legal english classes.  For the last 2 weeks, I've been trying to decide  in which city I should take the classes and I've also been looking for a school and a place to stay.

So after a lot of reflexion (!), I've decided to go to...CHICAGO ! I've never been there so I don't really know what to expect but I've heard that it's a great city.

Anyone from Chicago ? I would definitely need some tips (feel free to send me an email over at: accropolish@hotmail.com) ! I'm really excited about this new adventure and I can't wait to be in the US.

Anyway... I bet you're here to see some polish not to read about my life ;) So here it is: I have for you today 2 polishes from my B-day swap with my friend Olivia. She picked up China Glaze - Papaya Punch for me because she saw it was on my wish list and she also picked up another orange polish which is Wet 'n Wild - 9.0.2.1 Orange which is a sheer glass fleck orange polish.

I used 2 coats of PP and one coat of 9.0.2.1 Orange for this mani. I think it's super pretty for summer or as a base for an Halloween mani (another thing I'm über excited about: to be in the USA during Halloween ahahah). Have a look:

So what do you think of this combo ? Can you think of another polish I should use as a layering base for 9.0.2.1.Orange ? Is there any of you who went abroad to learn a foreign language ? Please share your experience !

Peachy Keen

Hey everyone,

How are you doing ? Almost the end of the week... what are your plans for the weekend ?

One of my favorite polish of the summer this year was China Glaze - Peachy Keen from the Up And Away collection. I rocked this one a few times on my tips and on my toes too (well not at the same time, I don't like matchy-matchy...).

Here's 2 coats of Peachy Keen:

As I've already mentionned it, Up And Away was an amazing collection in my opinion. Which color was your favorite of the bunch ? I have to go with Re-fresh Mint !

I'm really looking forward to fall colors right now. I can't wait to get my hands on the Touring America collection by OPI. From the swatches I've seen, this collection will probably be my favorite of the year. I'm a sucker for dark color and corals creme polishes. I'm definitely going to look for at least half of the collection in October ;)

Electric pineapple

Hey ladies,

So today I have for you the first polish I've tried from my swap with Olivia: China Glaze - Electric Pineapple from the Island Escape collection (I've also tried China Glaze - Papaya Punch from the same collection on my toes... but don't worry I won't show you my feet ! lol). EP is one of those weird (some call them ugly) colors but I don't care, I'm in love with it ! It's absolutely gorgeous and I like to think of it as a edgy color.
The application was fine, a little bit watery. I only used 2 coats and I think the coverage is fine.

Outdoors (in the shade) - with flash

Outdoors (in the sun) - no flash

Look how it matches my bracelets !
I really love this yellow green creme. I'll definitely wear this one a lot (which is pretty rare for me who don't wear a polish more than once) 'til the end of summer and maybe even in fall too ;)

What do you think of this one ? I'm really happy Olivia picked up this one for me because I always wanted to wear OPI - Fiercely Fiona and OPI - Who The Shrek Are You ? but never did because I only have the mini bottle and I hate their brushes ;) She filled up my craving for weird color ! Thanks girl !

Thanks for stopping by ! And don't forget to let me know in the comment box which is your all time favorite weird color !

Birthday Babes

Hey ladies,

How are you doing ? Sorry I haven't post yesterday.... I got a little bit busy. It was my birthday actually and I wanted to show you my mani ;).

Of course, I neeeded some glitters so I used OPI - Glow Up Already! from the Burlesque collection...but not for a full mani (sorry can't stand the removal part...) for my accent fingers. The other color is China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint which I absolutely adore. This color is just perfection. This is 2 coats of Re-Fresh Mint and 3 coats of Glow Up Already!

As far as my presents are concerned, my awesome dad got me some Catrice polishes so you'll see some swatches soon ;)

Today is also my lovely sister's B-day so...

HAPPY B-DAY SWEETY !!!

She'll probably be posting some of her nail art soon ;)

Anyway, that's it for today !
Thanks for stopping by ladies,

Suprise !

Just a little, fast, post for my sister (who's working hard while I'm doing that !)

I was missing my leopard manicure, so ... Here it is !

I used China Glaze - Lemon Fizz and Milani - Gold Glitz.

To do the leopard "skin", I used the best "nail art novice tool" ever created ! The Essence - Nail Art Pen ! For the girls who don't know this, it's like a paint pen but with polish, except that it is not polish, it's better ! It looks like polish but it's water soluble !!! No more mistake on your "just done" nails !

It is LEGEND ... wait for it ... DARY !

XOXO to my sister, who , I know, is gonna check the blog before I tell her to do it ;)

Can you ride a horse ?

Hello there !

OK, so my NOTD is China Glaze - Side Saddle from the gorgeous Rodeo Diva Collection. This is a browned plum with gold shimmer that covers great in two coats. You know I love vampys... and this one is a really pretty one ! Love it.

So sad there's no sun today here so you can't really see the gold shimmer. My pictures don't do this one justice. Anyway here they are:

Although I love this one very much, my fav from the Rodeo Diva Collection is Wagon Trail. Which one is yours ?

Crackle attempt #2... failed !

Hey there !

What's up ? So yesterday evening S. came to my house. We had such a great time together. We packed all the stuffs for my first swap with Lauren and then we finally painted our nails. Here's the result of that mani evening:

This is two coats of China Glaze - Something Sweet from the Up and Away Collection (one of my favorite collection ever I have to say) with OPI - Black Shatter.

Do you like it ? I don't ! I managed to work with the crackle much better the first time around. See the post here (I was right, THAT was beginner's luck !). This time I ended up with different paterns on each nail which I don't appreciate at all. I should have let the polish dry a little bit more before layering it with BS. And I should have been more careful with the tickness of the coats... Too bad !

Be sure, there's gonna be a new mani very soon ! ;)

Have a great (evening) day you all !
Come back soon

Pimp My mani #1

Good morning dear followers !

First of all, royal_cyd and I would like to thank you all for being such great followers ! We can't believe we've reached 31 followers ! We're trilled, thank you so much ! ;)

Now the polish... for those of you who come here often you know that I get bored easily with a manicure and that I often try to renew my mani with layering or stampings. That's what I did today once again... and so I thought I could make a regular post of it. I've decided to call those posts Pimp My mani (lame I know...lol). Do you think it's a good idea ? Are you interested in such posts ?

I was rocking two coats of China Glaze - Frostbite and when I saw this on Nidhira's blog I knew I have to give it a try. I had Essence - Glisten Up! for so long and never tried it so it was about time...

I added two coat of Glisten Up! on my current mani and voila, today's PMM:

It's really pretty and shiny, the green/teal flakies add a mermaid look to Frostbite that I love. Today it's sunny out there so the combo can really reveal itself, can't wait to get out of the house but for now I have to start my thesis in order to get my Master of Law. Exciting, right ?! :s

Let me know what you think about this combo and about the PMM posts ! I can't wait to hear your thoughts, ideas and comments.
Thanks for stopping by ! Have a nice sunday.

NOTD for a cold but sunny day

Hi there !

Today NOTD is China Glaze - Frostbite from the 2007 Ski Collection. Let me just say that this polish is amazing ! It pops and shines like crazy in the sun (yes there's sun today, can you believe it ?).

You can see two coats below. It was really watery so I had to do a lot of clean-up on my cuticles. I love this color, the only negative point here is that this polish smells really really bad ! I don't know what the problem is, maybe the formula or something. Do you guys have the same issue with this one ?

That's it for today, hope you liked it ! I'm going out now while it's still sunny !
Have a nice week-end !

''Bogie'' Woogie

Hello dear readers,

I hope this week has started nicely for everyone. For the first manicure of the week I've chosen China Glaze - Bogie from the Vintage Vixen Collection. I have to say I wasn't trilled by that collection at the time it came out. I only got Bogie and Jitterburg. It feels like most of the colors of this collection have an old-fashion touch  (I guess that's why they called it Vintage Vixen... ahah) that I don't like so much.

Anyway, here's Bogie:

Of course the application was smooth, no problem here, thanks China Glaze. Bogie is a nice silver/eggplant frost that covers great in two coats.

There's absolutely no sun here today, it's only cold and windy so I wasn't abe to take a sunny pic, sorry about that gals.

What about you ? Did you enjoy the Vintage Vixen Collection ? Which polish was your favorite ?  Maybe I should give them a try ! ;)

Come back soon !

Layered... twice ! * UPDATE *

Hey gals !

It's known for a fact that I get tired of a manicure really quickly... ahahah so here's what happens when I get bored: I try to recycle my actual mani if I don't feel like going through the whole manicure process.
That's exactly what happened today: I was wearing OPI - From Monop with Love! and decided to add a little something to it. I layered one coat of OPI - The Show Must Go On from the Burlesque Collection and here's the result:

What do you think ?

I'm not really sure to like TSMGO alone... Well let's face it, I'm not really sure to like it layered either. Do I only like cremes ? Imagining all the polish possibilities I'm missing is sooo frustrating ! ;)

Now guess what I did while writing this post ? I layered another polish on TSMGO... The lucky one was China Glaze - Mrs Claus which I don't really like alone either. I'm such a freak ! lol  Here's one coat of Mrs. Claus over all the other stuff :

As you can see the duochrome is now less apparent but the combo is really shiny. Those pics were taken indoors with artificial light 'cause it was already dark out there when I decided to do the layering experiment.

Is my mani getting worse ? Shoud I remove all the polishes and choose another one ? Can't wait to read your comments !

Take care,
Xoxo

Update: Now that it's sunny out there I took a few outdoors pics to show you how shiny the OPI - From Monop With Love/OPI - The Show Must Go On/ China Glaze - Mrs Claus combo is. I hope you'll like it !

Caribbean Blue

Hey ladies !

Hope everyone is enjoying the end of the week ! Today I have for you a great blue polish: China Glaze - Caribbean Blue... AND a comparison.... AND a little nail art ! ;)

Let's start with the polish itself, shall we ? It's a pretty baby blue with silver shimmers. The application was flawless and it covered great in two coats.

Outdoors with flash

Pretty right ? Do you see the shimmers ? Here's a close-up:

And my sister was kind enough to do a little nail art on my tumbs:

How cute is that little panda ? I don't usually wear nail art but I can't resist this one ! Love it.

And as far as the comparison is concerned, I found out Essence - Pool Party in my stash and thought that it looks pretty similar to CB. I used two coats of each one and no base coat nor top coat.
From left to right: CB, PP, CB, PP

From left to right: CB, PP, CB, PP
Both Carribean Blue and Pool Party have the same silver shimmers but I think it's more apparent on PP because it's slightly darker than CB. PP also seems more teal than PP but they're still pretty similar though. Which one do you guys prefer ? I would say my favourite is PP 'cause it's more flashy than CB who looks more gray beside PP (does that make any sense for you ? lol).

Thank you for stopping by !
