Fancy Fuchsia Leopard

Hey ladies,
Long time, no post…. So sorry about that ! Anyway here’s my NOTD. This is two coats of Orly – Fancy Fuchsia. My lovely sister did a really cute leopard print on my ring finger. What do you guys think of it ?
Now about the polish…. It sucks. The color is pretty but the formula was a PITA ! It was really sticky ! One of the worst formula I’ve ever tried.
This is the only color I got from the Precious collection so I can’t tell you about the other polishes’ formula but they can’t be as bad as this one…
Anyway here’s the pics:

What do you think of the Precious collection ? Do you like it ? I have to say I wasn't to impressed by the color range...
Thank you for stopping by !

Pimp My mani #3

Hey there,

Just a quick post before going to bed to show you guys Orly - Pixie Dust layered with one coat of Essence Special Effect Topper in Mystic Mermaid. The application was flawless.

Let me just say this combo is GORGEOUS ! There's some pink and blue shimmer. Feel free to enlarge the pics to see it.

Take a look:

I'm sure it will look great layered over a dark polish. I really have to try other combos. Any suggestion ?

Going to bed now.

Orly - Pixie Dust

Hey everyone !

Today I have for you a gorgeous polish: Orly - Pixie Dust from the 2009 Once Upon A Time collection. It's a pale blue/gray with silver shimmer, two coats here (but maybe I've should have done a third coat just to be sure). Lucky me, it's sunny out here today so I can take proper pics ;)

The only other polish I own from this collection is Mirror Mirror. You can see the post here. Do you like gray nail polish ? In my opinion this one is perfect for pre-spring, not too pastel, not too gray.

Do you like Orly polishes ? I got only one polish from the Precious collection. Can you guess which one is it ?

Thanks for stopping by.

Going satin...uptdated with top coat !

Good morning (or evening...) dear followers,

Hope everyone is having a nice week.

I'm pretty excited because I'm planning on doing my first swap with the lovely Lauren over at Lacquer Addict and I have to say I can't wait to get my hands on the pretty polishes she got for me. Don't forget to check her blog and follow this new blogger ! ;)

Today's NOTD is Orly - Pruple Pleather from the Plastix Satin Finish collection. This is a cool blue-based purple polish that gets opaque in two coats. The formula was great although you have to be quick when applying it because it dries really quickly. Satin fnish is supposed to be just between glossy finish and matte finish but I can't see much a difference between satin and matte. Can you ?

I always choose matte/satin polish when I'm in a hurry or when I know I'm gonna change my mani a few hours after (because obviously satin/matte polishes don't last without chipping as long  as other finishes). That's right, I'm going to change my mani tonight when my bestfriend S. will come to my house and we'll enjoy our traditional ''Nail party''. So be prepared for another post tonight or tomorrow morning !

That being said let's have a look at what really matters : the polish. Here it is:

I hope you'll like it. I do anyway. It adds a little edgy-ness to my look of the day ;) Do you own polishes fom that collection ? What do you think of them ?

Have a great day everyone !

Matte

Hey ladies !

Hope everyone's fine ! I would like to show you yesterday's NOTE (Nails of the evening... 'cause I had chip wears really quickly). Here's Orly - Iron Butterfly which is a matte charcoal with silver shimmers from the Metal Chic Metallic Matte Collection.

I love this polish, it's so edgy, covers well in two coats, dries very fast, gorgeous with top coat (I've heard it's a dupe for OPI - Baby It's Coal Outisde, but I don't have that polish to compare...) and so on...The only bad thing is the wearing issue ! I haven't been able to wear it more than half a day.

(All the pics have been taken inside with artificial light)
Do you like matte polish ? Or does it looks weird ? I always choose matte polish when I'm in a hurry and need to get ready to go quickly (yes I'm the kind of girl who feels naked without polish on.... hello freak ! lol)

Orly - Mirror Mirror

Hey gals,

What's up ? Today it's sunny here in Switzerland so I've chosen a pastel for my NOTD: Mirror Mirror (from the Once Upon A Time Collection) is a light gray creme that covers well in two coats. I'm not sure if that color goes well with my skin tone but I love it anyway.

I would say that the accurate color is just in between the two colors shown on the pics... if that helps you... ;)

How do you guys feel about gray polish ? Are you tired of them or not yet ?

I'm going out now, trying to enjoy a little bit of the sun !
Thanks for reading !

Layering experiment

Hi gals,

How is everyone ? The week-end has started really quitely for me, I'm not really doing anything, just relaxing and chilling now that the exams are done.

Anyway... tonight I'm going to a dinner with my law school friends (boys only...lucky me !) and I wanted a little bit of sparkle or something on my nails... So I layered one coat of Orly - Space Cadet over my current mani (OPI - William Tell Me About OPI) and here's the result:

The duochrome effect isn't so visible on my pics but in real life it's gorgous, I can't stop looking at my nails ;)
I haven't worn Space Cadet alone yet so I can't compare but I quite like it layered.

Do you guys own Space Cadet ? It was a 2010 must have but I didn't order it at the time, I was not sure if I was really going to like it. Now I'm really glad my lovely sis found it in Switzerland (which is a little miracle !) and bought it. ;)

Have a nice week-end !

Nail art update

Hello polish lovers,
It's been a while since I've posted so I'm gonna show you my latest designs. Hope you'll like it !
This is 2 coats of Orly - Mirror Mirror. I used a black liner, Rouge Baiser - Rose Dragée for the hears and 2 black and 1 red strass.

For this manicure I used two coats of China Glaze - Purple Panic and some fimos and strass. Really quick and easy !
This is two coats of OPI - Bling Dynasty. I used OPI - My Private Jet (brown version) for the leopard prints and a black liner.
Look how that mani matches my Converse ! ;) Love it !
Thank you for stopping by !

Khaki, really ?!

Hey guys !

What's up ? It's exam day 5 in my I-have-no-social contacts-anymore life and today I was wearing Orly - Country Club Khaki (which seems to have brought me luck) ;)

Anyway, I don't know if I have vision issue or what but I can't see the khaki in this color... It appears to me more taupe than khaki. What do you gals think ? However the lake of khaki-ness in this one, it's a pretty neutral edgy polish which is also really smooth. I only needed two coats.

Let's see if it lasts longer on me than OPI - Over the Taupe. I'm gonna try a little stamping on this one right now, even if I love it (I get bored easily as far as polish are concerned). How often do you guys change polish ? I could change everyday if I had the time, just to match my outfit ;)

Update: here is the stamping attempt. I really need to practice the use of the dotting stick ;)
