Homonym

Hey ladies !

Today I have for you the first polish I tried from the swap with Olivia and also my first Zoya ever ;)

Please let me introduce you to... Zoya - ELODIE ! Yeaaahh ! It's from summer 2008 Gossip collection.

Apart from the name (which is awesome btw...lol) you may think this polish isn't so particular. Maybe you're right, but I love it anyway. This is a bright coral which is perfect for spring/summer. It's a classic color but will look amazing on a tan skin. It dries a little bit darker than the color in the bottle.

I used 3 coats for the swatches just to be sure but you can go away with 2.

ahahahah

Formula was easy to work with but a little bit sheer. It has sort of a jelly finish to it that I like. I would really try other Zoya's. Let's hope Zoya will start to deliver outside the US soon. Which is your favorite Zoya polish ? Is there a Zoya with your name on it ?

Talk to you soon

So trilled !

Hey ladies !

I've just come back home from one of my dearest friend's and guess what I've found ? A package from the lovely Olivia over at Olivia Frescura Blog. She's the first person I arrange a swap with on MUA. She was also the owner of the first product I ever look for on MUA... that's right... nail polish ! Zoya in... Elodie (now you know my first name !).

I finally got her package and I couldn't be happier ! Everything she chose for me is PERFECT. So funny, we don't really know each other but she got me some amazing products I wanted to try, she couln't be more right !

She had a great idea for this swap: sending each other some candies from our country (YUMMY !) and a postcard from our city. That's what we did and look at what I found in the box:

Look at all those candies ! Beside from Zoya - Elodie, she surprised me with OPI - Big Hair... Big Nails and Wet'n Wild - Gray's Anatomy both of wich were on my wishlist. So sweet ! You can see that she also send me an E.L.F brush (I swear while I was putting my make-up on to go out tonight I was telling myself I need more eye makeup brush !) and a body spray from Bath and Body work which smells awesome.

Doesn't this look like the perfect swap ?! I certainely think so.

Please go check her blog out and her makeup channel on YouTube, she does some really great tutorials. Oh and she entered a beauty contest so please go vote for her here.
Now about my mani, I added some Black Shatter and here's the result (sorry about the  shrinkage):

Sooooo, that's it for tonight I guess. It's like almost 2 a.m here so I'm off to bed now.
Thanks for stopping by.

OPI - Catch Me In Your Net

Hey there !

Long time no post, sorry about that ! I hope you guys had a wonderful Easter ! I spent time with family and friends and... eat way too much ! Lol. Anyway, today I have for you a gorgeous polish which is discontinued. In my opinion it's one of the best shade OPI came up with since the last 2 years. Love the name too <3

CMIYN was released in the 2010 Summer Flutter collection along with 3 other shades. CMIYN was my absolute favorite of the bunch.

Stop talking, here's Catch Me In Your Net (2 coats):

Outdoor - with flash (in the sahde)

Outdoors - no flash (in the shade)

Outdoors - no flash (in the sun)
Isn't it gorgeous ? I love it. I'm maybe gonna layer some Black Shatter over this beauty later to go out tonight, what do you say ? I'll let you know how it turns out ! ;)

Take care

My first Lippmann

Hey ladies,

Sorry about the lack of post recently... I've been quite busy. Anyway today I have for you my very first Deborah Lippmann. I got it from my very first MUA swap (there's another one is its way right now). I've recently discovered MUA and I'm really glad. I had no idea there was such an easy way to exchange polish :)

OK so here's the pics. This is 2 coats of My Funny Valentine. In my opinion it's the perfect red creme. Not too dark, not too orange. The application was FLAWLESS. The polish is so pigmented I'm sure you can go away with only one coat (but I always do 2 (at least) with every polish anyway)

Sometimes I love me a good red creme. Bonus: It goes with every outfit. Yes I'm the kind of girl who likes her polish to match her clothes...

How do you feel about red polish ? Is it too classical ? I think classic is good...from time to time ;)

Take care

Pimp My mani #3

Hey there,

Just a quick post before going to bed to show you guys Orly - Pixie Dust layered with one coat of Essence Special Effect Topper in Mystic Mermaid. The application was flawless.

Let me just say this combo is GORGEOUS ! There's some pink and blue shimmer. Feel free to enlarge the pics to see it.

Take a look:

I'm sure it will look great layered over a dark polish. I really have to try other combos. Any suggestion ?

Going to bed now.

Orly - Pixie Dust

Hey everyone !

Today I have for you a gorgeous polish: Orly - Pixie Dust from the 2009 Once Upon A Time collection. It's a pale blue/gray with silver shimmer, two coats here (but maybe I've should have done a third coat just to be sure). Lucky me, it's sunny out here today so I can take proper pics ;)

The only other polish I own from this collection is Mirror Mirror. You can see the post here. Do you like gray nail polish ? In my opinion this one is perfect for pre-spring, not too pastel, not too gray.

Do you like Orly polishes ? I got only one polish from the Precious collection. Can you guess which one is it ?

Thanks for stopping by.

Poor forgotten polish

Hey lovelies !

How are you today ? I'm really excited 'cause I got an email from Annelise over at LastLash telling me I was the winner of her giveaway ! Yeaaaah ! I love giveaways ;)

Today I have for you a polish that was in my lovely best friend's stash for a long long time. To much time in my opinion because this one is a real beauty ! I didn't manage to get outdoors pics in the sun but I'll try tomorrow.

This beauty has a lame name... n° 278. This is a Kiko polish, it applied well in two coats. It shines like crazy in the sun (sorry you can see that on my pics. You have to trust me on that I guess).

Here goes:

It's lighter and more pink in real life actually. What do you think of it ? Do you own some Kiko polishes ?

Hey S. now that you've seen my swatches, I hope you're going to wear this baby ! Shame on you for not having tested in sooner ! ;) Luv ya. xoxo

So, have a nice evening everyone,
Come back soon !

Swap - part. 5

Hey everyone !

Hope you are all fine ! Today I have for you another polish from my swap with Lauren (the last one is Milani - Glitz of Gold which is coming soon). This is Nicole by OPI - My Lifesaver. The color is gorgeous, I really love it for spring. The major low point with this polish is the brush ! It's thick so you have to be carefull if you don't want to end up with some bald spots. I didn't have that issue with Iceberg Lotus. Do you guys have some trouble with Nicole by OPI new brushes ?

Anyway ...

Pretty isn't it ? I love that color. What's your favorite color for spring ?

Take care

Swap - part. 4

Hey there !

Long time no post I know... I'm so sorry about that ! Today I've got for you two more polishes from my swap with Lauren. Both are from Sally Hansen lines. These were extra goodies that Lauren sent me ;)

Let's start with my favorite of the two. This is Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps - Magenta Creme. This is a gorgeous summer color and I think a great pedi color. This was two coats, it was a bit watery though.

Outside (in the sun) - with flash

Outside (in the shade) - no flash
The second polish for today is Sally Hansen Maximum Growth plus - Faith. This was also a two coaters. I thought I wouldn't like that color when I first saw the bottle but once on the nails I kinda like it. It has a old fashion feeling to it which is nice in my opinion. I would definitely pick that one when I need to have a more work appropriate polish. I don't think I have something similar in my stash. This is like a dusty old-rose with a hint of orange. It was hard to photograph so maybe you won't be able to see the color but I'm doing my best hehe.

So what do you think of those two pink polishes ?
I'll try to post some other NOTD by the end of the week so check back soon ! I'm off to the University right now so have a nice afternoon everyone.

Take care
xoxo
